Join us as we set the city humming with the sounds and beauty of opera! The 2012 Summer Opera-Fest has been created as a fresh, creative approach to our seasonal programming. It is the first opera event of its kind in our region and will include an unprecedented variety of accessible, low-cost, audience-friendly events designed to satisfy every taste and pocketbook.
From families with kids to opera aficionados, this festival of opera will appeal to everyone. We encourage local residents, tourists and visitors to take advantage of the discounted Opera-Fest passes that can be purchased online. Both the Festival Premium Pass and Festival Discount Pass will save you money (20-60%) and allow maximum flexibility for attending all events.
The Opera-Fest will present over a dozen performances and events in venues all over the city. More than fifty talented opera artists and choral singers will be brought to the Twin Ports to perform during the festival, including the Twin Cities premiere choruses, SONOMENTO and CORO! These choirs will perform in “Opera’s Greatest Hits” at Bayfront Park on Sunday, August 19, to close the ART IN BAYFRONT PARK art festival.
